The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (Public Law No. 111-149) as amended by the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010 (Public Law No. 111-152) signed into law on March 23, 2010 and March 30, 2010, respectively (the "Affordable Care Act") significantly impacts virtually every individual and business. The Affordable Care Act is complex, and various new rules become effective at different times over a period of eight years. A panel of informed practitioners will discuss technical aspects of the recently released DOL and HHS regulations and practical considerations that employers must take into account relative to employee benefit design and cost as well as employee communications.
